I write about product development & startups . I am an engineer, designer, and entrepreneur
Hey, I'm Yusuf Abdurakhimov. I'm a 22-year-old product-oriented software engineer from Uzbekistan. Currently living in Nebraska, USA.
You can find me organising events, live streaming on an early Sunday, or giving a speech at your next tech event. I love to learn, share and inspire.
I was first introduced to the world of computers when I was 5 years old by my parents, mainly my father. I observed my parents being very interested in learning new technologies. I had an unfair advantage: my father replaced his phone with a new model every month or two.
My interest in programming and creating things came to me from early age. During my school days, I created websites using PHP in my chemistry classes. I still remember that Geometry web app I first made when I was in 7th grade. I was so proud of it.
After school, I decided to create an EdTech startup together with my co-founders Khabibullo and Azizbek. We have reached over 5000 students and many teachers in no-time. We also won a $5,000 scholarship for 1st place from UNDP among 100+ startups.
I started my professional career as a software engineer when I was 18 at one of the NGOs in Uzbekistan (DG Uzbekistan). My main job was to learn, share and inspire others to learn new technologies. During my two years there, I developed strong connections with people who are now my mentors and friends. We also organized one of the largest developer events in Central Asia. Over 4 online events with over 4000 participants.
During my years in Digital Generation Uzbekistan, I had the honour to present large-scale projects to the President of Uzbekistan more than twice.
After I started working at EPAM Systems Inc. as a Software Engineer where I have contributed to world-class Media and Fashion brands with over 100,000,000 monthly visitors. I built a lot more experience working on large-scale projects.
In 2022, I launched an S-Commerce startup with Abdulaziz Sharipov as technical co-founder. As crazy as it may be, we have tested and implemented many projects such as Ipek Yolu, Molly Marketplace and, finally, optochka.com, mainstream platform for your next store on telegram.
Late 2022, I moved to the United States to study computer science at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, where I made many friends and explored the vibrant life in the US.
One of the recent projects I have been involved in is 42.uz, which currently has over 5,000 students and many hours of training materials from mentors from major tech companies. I joined the team in August 2023 as a co-founder and we were able to successfully launch an MVP product in November.
Recent update from Team 42.uz. 23rd July 2024 / +6,423 students.
So, I'm that guy who has a passion for creating and telling stories from the corner of my room in Omaha, Nebraska. If you are interested in my journey, let's dive into my blog.
